Mountain Bread Toasties

Mountain Bread Toasties

DIETARY: VEG, EF, NF

ALLERGENS: Wheat, Dairy

AGE GROUP: 12 months+

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Beginner

SERVES: 2

PREP: 5 mins

COOK: 5-7 mins

EQUIPMENT: Air-fryer or sandwich press 

INGREDIENTS:

4 sheets of mountain bread 

½ ripe avocado, peeled, seed removed and mashed 

1 cup grated cheese 

1 tomato, rinsed and thinly sliced 

 

½ tbsp (10ml) extra virgin olive oil 

METHOD:

  1. Place 2 wraps on top of each other on a clean work surface and spread evenly with approx. 2 tbsp of avocado. 

  2. Sprinkle with grated cheese and tomato slices. 

  3. Fold both ends in and roll into a log. Continue with the other wraps. 

  4. Brush wraps with olive oil and place into an air-fryer. 

  5. Air-fry for 5-7 mins on high. 

 

STORING LEFTOVERS: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 4 months.

TIPS:

  • Prep tips: 
    Alternatively, place the wraps into a sandwich press and cook for 2-3 mins or until cheese starts to melt. 

  • Allergies: 
    For a dairy-free version: Leave out cheese and fill wrap with mashed chickpeas and grated veggies. 

  • Easy ingredient swaps: 
    Swap tomato for grated veggies. 
    Swap avocado for spread of choice.

  • Additional boosters: 
    Boost with grated veggies or leftover roast veggies. 
    Boost with mashed chickpeas. 

  • Baby-friendly version: 
    Serve mashed or in finger food-sized pieces. 

  • For fussy eaters:
